Moravian Church (Bath) WW1 Memorial

Moravian Church Memorial
The Moravian Church formerly met in a distinctive, red-brick building in Coronation Avenue but the building has been sold and converted to accommodation. The church now meets in the Ascension Church, Claude Avenue, and its WW1 Memorial plaque is now also sited at the Ascension Church.

This postcard of Coronation Avenue from circa 1910 shows the Moravian Church on the left.

From Bath Weekly Chronicle & Gazette, 17th May 1924:

BATH & COUNTY NOTES

An oak war memorial tablet is being erected in the Moravian Church, Coronation Avenue, to commemorate the thirteen members of that church who perished in the war. The lettering is in gold, and the memorial, which is the work of a London firm, is practically completed. It is hoped to make arrangements for a formal dedication at an early date.

However no record of the dedication service itself has been found.
