Kingswood
School, occupying a prominent position on the northern slopes of the
city, built a memorial chapel in its grounds as its permanent reminder
of the sacrifice of its former pupils. It was the brainchild of former Headmaster Mr. W. P. Workman who died suddenly in 1918. The chapel was dedicated in June 1922.
It
is a fine edifice and features some excellent stained glass, including
this window which is a subsequent embellishment of the chapel:
In
the vestibule is an memorial of oak and brass that lists the names of
those old boys of the school who served and died in WW1:
